Who we are
Born and raised on a farm in Neepawa, Manitoba, Rick has deep roots in a family lineage of heavy-duty mechanics. His extensive career began long before he opened Pheenix Performance Ltd. For 25 years, Rick was the principal road mechanic for Edge Equipment in Edmonton, Alberta, specializing in heavy machinery used in forestry within the oil patch—ranging from mulchers and drills to skid steers and payloaders. During the off-season, he not only worked out of the Edge Equipment shop but also mentored apprentices and provided crucial mobile mechanic services to a diverse client base. Rick’s profound industry knowledge and dedication to his craft are integral to the ethos of Pheenix Performance.
A true Saskatchewan native, Adrienne has devoted nearly two decades to her career as a paramedic, with roles extending from clinical settings to emergency response vehicles, and as an on-site medic in the oil patch. Her strong family connections in North Battleford and across Saskatchewan enrich her community ties. Adrienne’s love, support, and commitment to Rick are fundamental to their personal and professional partnership. Working side by side daily at Pheenix Performance, they tackle challenges together, forming a resilient foundation that underpins the success and values of their business.

Our History
In December 2022, while working together on a project, Rick and Adrienne each independently decided that it would be their final year in the oil patch. It was a pivotal moment, but not your typical love story. For Adrienne, it wasn’t love at first sight; Rick, however, had other plans. He set his heart on winning her over—his mission was to woo, date, and eventually marry Adrienne.
As the weeks passed, the initial sparks ignited into a deeper connection, and Adrienne began to see the diamond in the rough. By February 2023, the concept of Pheenix Performance Ltd. was conceived. Sharing a like-minded vision for success and a mutual drive, they decided to pursue their dream together.
Starting a new business was challenging, but Rick and Adrienne faced each hurdle with laughter, unwavering support, open communication, and a shared sense of humor. Each obstacle they overcame further strengthened their partnership. In the face of darkness, they found light in each other, making every day brighter than the last and continuously shaping their ‘diamond in the rough.’
